Welcome..!
SSETI (Student Space Exploration & Technology Initiative) is
a unique project put into execution by students from 32 different
universities spread all over Europe. In cooperation with the European
Space Agency (ESA) they aim to build a microsatellite together.
The idea originates from the Office
for Outreach Activities of the ESA.
The main objective of this initiative is to create a network of
students, educational institutions and organisations (on the Internet)
facilitating the distributed design, construction and launch of
(micro)-satellites and other spacecraft. During the design and building
of the spacecraft participants of SSETI are located all over Europe.
This results in a very unconventional, new (communication) approach,
which is called distributed development. The main characteristic
of this approach is that modern communication tools (Internet, e-mail
etc.) are used to discuss and communicate with each other.
- This site (italian only) was the italian official website of
SSETI, and now is the tribute to first italian participants.
- Discover with us "What is the Concurrent Engineering",
a multimedial presentation based on F. La Regina, A. Ruffolo,
M. Settino - A Web-based Concurrent Designing is the future of complex
projects' solutions, the case study of SSETI - proceedings of IAC
2003.
Let's launch the dream..!
